Dexter       NEWS!! Click here!

Lately I have been enjoying the exploits of Michael Hall. No not Anthony Michael Hall, the other one,  Michael C. Hall. He portrays Dexter Morgan, a serial killer of unusual pedigree. He was raised by a Miami police officer, and so has a  personal "code of honor" that he follows, only killing those that he knows have the darkest evil in their heart. Dexter investigates his prey and only kills those that he is certain are guilty of murder.

The writing is outstanding, the acting is pretty good, with several actors delivering multiple award nominated performances. The music is apt, the cinematography is perfect for delivering the desired mood. This is a drama that  will touch your inner dark passenger and tickle his funny bone.

I like to think of the first season as a operatic performance, an aria of complex technical mastery, designed to introduce the characters, the back story, and the personal motivations & interactions. When the fat lady sang at the end of the first season, I laughed, I cried, I stood up and cheered. Well in my head I did all those things, it seemd like a lot of work to actually do these things.   =)
Season two seems more like an improvised jazz solo. We know the characters, we are familiar with the environment, the atmosphere, the character interactions, it's now time to shake it up. Dexter is less cool and calculated, his world turns topsy turvy, and he actually starts to express emotion. This is one of the best drama series I have seen in a long time, Bravo Dexter!
